Photographs of people are personal data. This policy explains in plain language how PhotoBackground.in is engineered so your photographs remain on your device.
Summary: What Happens to Your Photos
- Processed in your browser: Whether you use our Photo Background Changer or White Background Photo Maker, your photo is decoded and segmented locally inside your browser tab.
- What we store on our servers: Nothing from your image canvas. We do not upload, store, log, or train AI models on user photographs.
- When you close the tab: The uncompressed RGBA pixel buffers and alpha masks held in your device RAM are immediately garbage-collected by your browser.
Local Browser Processing and Model Caching
When you click Choose Photo or select a sample preset, your browser launches `/workers/bg-worker.js` and stores model metadata inside the browser's local `CacheStorage` (`photobackground-model-v1`) so subsequent edits do not re-download assets over mobile data. No personal identifier or user image is written to this cache.
Information We Collect (and Do Not Collect)
When you browse our pages or download background plates, standard web server access logs record basic network metadata (IP address, requested URL path, user-agent string, and HTTP status code) solely for security, uptime monitoring, and abuse prevention. If you email us via our Contact page, we use your email address and message solely to reply to your inquiry.
Children's Photographs and Parental Guidance
Parents and studios occasionally edit school ID cards or family portraits of minors. Because processing occurs locally on your device, children's images are never transmitted to PhotoBackground.in. We encourage parents and guardians to supervise minors using online tools and never to share sensitive identity documents publicly.

Are my uploaded portraits or ID photos ever transmitted to your servers?
No. When you select a file in our tools, the file is read into local browser memory via the HTML5 FileReader and Canvas APIs and segmented inside a local Web Worker. No HTTP POST or cloud storage upload of your image ever occurs.
Why does my browser store cached files after I use the background tool once?
To save your mobile data on return visits, our Web Worker caches its segmentation configuration in your browser Cache Storage. This cached data contains only tool parameters, never your personal photographs.
How can I clear the cached segmentation model from my phone or laptop?
You can clear site data at any time through your browser settings (Site Settings -> Clear & Reset for photobackground.in).
Do you use third-party advertising pixels that can inspect my canvas images?
No. We prohibit third-party tracking pixels, session replay scripts, or unapproved external scripts from running on tool pages.
